The Glenwood-Glen Head Garbage District was established as a Special District in the Town of Oyster Bay. We are responsible for the pick-up of garbage and recycling materials in the areas of Glenwood Landing and parts of Glen Head. The District currently serves approximately nine thousand residents within its borders. Our current services are provided by Meadow Carting, which is responsible for the the safe curbside removal of nearly four thousand seven hundred fifty tons of solid waste annually.
In addition, Meadow Carting is responsible for the safe removal of nearly six hundred tons of recycled paper, aluminum and plastic materials annually which helps to reduce the need for raw materials in manufacturing.
The Garbage District continues to provide improved and expanded services in the area of solid waste removal and disposal, recycling and other projects.
